DESCRIPTION
In this design for Air Bureau´s album "forever love", we chose to work with the theme "monogamy" as our interpretation of "forever love".
In a series of illustrations we have gathered several species that live in monogamous relationships. Using a collage-like method where we use photographs of patterns taken through a microscope from the chemicals that is released in our bodies when we fall in love. These chemicals are dopamine, norepinephirine, oxytoxin, serotin and vasopressin. Dopamine for example is commonly associated with the pleasure system of the brain, providing feelings of enjoyment and motivates us to do certain activities. Dopamine is released by the natrually rewarding experiences such as food and sex. Another example is Oxytocin that is a mammalian hormone that in women are released mainly after stimulation of the nipples and distension of the vagina and that facilitates both birth and breastfeeding. It is also released during orgasm in both sexes. In the brain it works as an neurotransmitter and is involved in bonding and the formation of trust betwen people. These chemicals are the root in monogamy for both animals and mankind alike and the biochemical part of the experience we humans define as love.

The Air Bureau sleeve design was made in cooperation with Kristofer Matti.

Deanne Cheuk is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to design. She used to design Tokion Magazine and has also made the highly acclaimed Mushroom Girl Virus Book and of course Neomu Magazine. Neomu Magazine consists of 148 pages of random artists working after a theme. I was delighted when Deanne asked me if I would do something for the magazine. I had an illustration that was inspired by a textile art site that I found. Deanne liked it and it was featured in Neomu 8.

With record label Kontra-Musik we worked with developing a design that felt digital but trying to delete all reference to a specific era. Going for strong design ideas instead of falling back on retro.

Aluma
2004-2007

DESCRIPTION
Aluma is one of three streetpapers in Sweden sold on the street by people that are homeless. 50% of the cost of buying a magazine is given to the one who sell it and the other half goes to production of the magazine.
In 2006 I starded working more intence with the Aluma helping them to develop a new more idea based concept based on diffrent themes. The magazine was going to be sold in more than one city from that point on so the local parts were taken out and replaced with a a more conceptual approach. We wanted to make every issue revolv around one theme (all aiming a putting focus on alienation, the real problem behind homelessness), using the articles to approch that theme from different angles.
Vissually I always strived to make Aluma look a little bit exclusive to prove that you can work with social issues and still make intresting design. Another important aim with the design as well as the content of the magazine is to make a product of value so that the person selling them doesn´t sell his or her social situation but rather a demanded product.

DESCRIPTION
For the pendletones recordsleeve i tried to work with a slight feeling of 60s playfulness with a more contemporary design approach. Inspired by the idea of a band on tour playing around with objects that could be found on the road or given to the group by their fans.
